Being an illustrator and a fine artist is for me the perfect combination. I like that I have two separate careers that can feed each other, and two separate worlds from which to draw creatively.
These two distinctive perspectives inform my paintings and sculptures which tend to be illustrative but very personal. For me it is all about story telling, capturing a moment, or giving life to a character.
My characters are frequently animals, particularly birds. I often include them in my work. They are curious friends, nurturing, talkative or sometimes judgmental. Birds are colorful and diverse. They can inspire happiness or prompt foreboding.
