Discover an alternative universe where monkey reign supreme!

The paintings featured in this exhibition are the contents of Matthew Porter’s 2009 wall calendar published by Simply Read Books. Each month features an exhilarating scenario in monkey world: a sea monster swallowing a monkey pirate ship and crew, monkey hunters on a wild African safari expedition, a lone monkey cowboy on the range. Monkeys for all seasons and adventures.

Matthew graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1997. Soon after he hopped on a plane and landed in America where he's been ever since. Matthew has dabbled with sideshow banners, Mexican wrestlers, giant robot cats, and the infamous "Monkey World" series.

Most recently Matthew has had two children’s board books published, Count the Birdies is a beautifully designed and crafted board book that not only helps children learn to count, but to recognize colors as well. ABC is an adorable alphabet book that is full of gorgeous colors, textures and cute animals.

He is co-owner of Bluebottle Art Gallery located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle.
