Karin Yamagiwa Madan is a maker of "things and stuff." She has been drawing and crafting as long as she or anyone who knows her can remember. Working with a variety of media that includes everything from markers, paint, clay and fabric to Shrinky Dinks, she creates memorable and endearing artwork exploring themes of innocence, loss, love, kinship and alienation. Her some-of-a-king artworks of "Stumpytown' are based on memories of childhood and traits of friends and loved ones. Karin hates getting out of bed and likes the color purple.
