ARTIST INFORMATION
We work solely on a consignment basis. Artists price all their work and we take a 50% commission on all works sold.
We are happy to assist with pricing but final descisions are at artist discretion.
We pay artists on the 1st of the month for sales from the previous month. We send a check with a sales statement to an address artist has provided. Most artists receive their checks around the 3rd or 4th.
We only send out checks for amounts over $10.00. If artist does not receive a check they may have not sold anything that particular month or the sales were under $10.00.
At times in order to achieve a sale we will reduce a prcie. If this occurs the reduction is deducted from Bluebottles commissions. Artist will still receive the full commission for the original retail price.
After work has been excepted we ask that artists complete our paperwork which is located at the bottom of our submissions page as PDF's. Artist must fill out and send/bring along with their work. The contract only needs to be completed with the inital shipment.
As works sell we encourage artists to continue to restock us with new work. Most artists typically review their monthly statements to get an idea of how much stock is left but feel free to e-mail us as well. We can always give you an update.
We do review all new work that is showcased. The exception is restocking exsisting product lines.
When artwork has been shipped to us we always send a confirmation e-mail to the artist so the artist can be assured work has arrived safely.
We are not responsible for any damages caused during shipping.
When work arrives at the gallery we display or hang the work within 2 - 3 days.
We feel artist know how to showcase their work best. If an artist has a display they would like us to use please discuss with us and we will work out an arrangment.
All prints and cards (not postcards) must be in a plastic sleeve and prints must include a hard backing. This prevents damage by customers while being featured.
All are sales are tracked by providing artists with a number. Artists are welcome to create their own price tags which include both the retail price and the artist number. Artists are welcome to include their contact information on their work.
We never provide artist contact information to customers. This is done to encourage sales through Bluebottle as well as maintain your personal information. If a customer is interested in contacting an artist we encourage them to send a message to us which will pass along to the artist.
All work must be ready to be hung or displayed. We will not provide hanging materials or packaging for products.
If artists are interested in having work featured on the site please see digital requirements in the PDf located on the bottom of the submissions page.
We typically showcase work for a basis of three months. If work has not sold in this period we often inquire as to if an artist would like to reduce the price or try a few new pieces. If after 4 - 5 months if no work has sold we will ask that the artist pick up work or that we ship items back to the artist.
Bluebottle Art Gallery and Store reserves the right to return items to artist at any time.
If return shipping is neccessary Bluebottle will pay the costs associated with return shipping. The method of shipping within the US will be Fed Ex via ground shipping. This includes a tracking number but no insurance. If an artist prefers a different method of shipping or insurance added the artist must bear the cost.
Artist agrees that if after being contacted by Bluebottle, both verbally and written, on three different occasions to pick up or shipping artwork and they have not done so Bluebottle reserves the right to donate said artwork to a charity.
Although every precaution will be taken to protect artwork, Bluebottle Art Gallery and Store will not assume any responsibility for stolen or damaged work.
Artist agrees to allow Bluebottle Art Gallery and Store to display and sell artist’s materials on our web site.
Artist agrees to allow Bluebottle Art Gallery and Store to display artist’s name and work in upcoming advertising.
Artists do not have to deal with Washington sales tax. We handle all sales tax.
Artists are responsible for reporting sales totaling over $600.00 annually on your federal tax returns. We recommend that artists keep their monthly statements in order to assess if their sales are over $600.00.
